K 2019 Review

3,333 Exhibitors from 63 countries, a fully booked exhibition centre and more than 224,000 visitors from 168 nations: the K 2019, which ended on 23 October 2019, was again a fair of superlatives.

The fair was also a resounding success for REGLOPLAS. Customers and visitors from 35 countries came to our stand in Hall 10 to find out about the latest trends in temperature control technology. Their interest was captured in particular by the 'networked factory 4.0': The latest generation of our temperature control units can be networked with injection moulding and other plastics processing machines via the OPC UA communication protocol. They can also be connected via OPC UA to central control, PPS, MES and ERP systems for plastics production, creating the prerequisites for continuous data exchange in the highly automated, digitized smart factories of plastics processors.

At the K 2019, we showed this networking solution in real life: A screen at the REGLOPLAS stand displayed the operating states of temperature control units running in partner stands. The devices can also be parameterized via a central dashboard.

This technology, which we presented for the first time at the world's leading trade fair for plastics technology, is only just at its beginning. It will increase energy efficiency of the injection moulding process and improve the quality of manufactured products. REGLOPLAS is a pioneer in this field and offers OPC UA connection as an option.
